Ring Size Guide

How would you like to find your ring size?

Use a phone app

Download a free sizer app to check an existing ring against a digital guide. This method is quick and reasonably accurate.

Show me how

Measure an existing ring

Use a ruler or caliper to measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits.

Measure your finger

Wrap a strip of paper or string around your finger and measure the length. This is useful when no ring is available, though slightly less precise than measuring a ring.

Recommended ring sizer apps

These apps work by displaying a circle on your phone screen. You adjust a slider until the circle matches the inside edge of a ring, then read the ring size. Always calibrate your screen before measuring.

Ring Sizer (iPhone)

Adjust a slider to align an on-screen circle with the inside edge of your ring. Supports multiple international sizing formats.

RingFit (Android)

A slider-based ring sizer with built-in size conversions. Popular on Google Play and straightforward to use.

WEB
Ringsize.app (Browser)

Browser-based and works without an app download. Calibrate your screen with a card, then size the circle to your ring using the slider.

Tips for an accurate result

  • Calibrate your screen using a bank card or coin before measuring.
  • Match the inside edge of the ring to the circle, not the outside edge.
  • Measure at least twice. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Measuring an existing ring

  1. Find a ring that fits the intended finger well, not too tight and not too loose.
  2. Place the ring on a flat, well-lit surface.
  3. Measure across the inside of the ring from edge to edge in millimetres.
  4. Enter the millimetre value in the finder below or use the chart to find the matching ring size.

Tips for an accurate result

  • Measure at room temperature, as fingers and metal both change slightly with heat or cold.
  • Measure at least twice and take the average if the readings differ slightly.
  • If your result falls between two sizes, choose the larger size.

Measuring your finger

  1. Cut a narrow strip of paper or use a piece of thin string, roughly 10 cm long.
  2. Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you want to size.
  3. Mark the point where the strip or string overlaps.
  4. Lay it flat and measure the length from the end to the mark in millimetres. This is your finger circumference.
  5. Enter the circumference in the finder below or use the chart to find the matching ring size.

Tips for an accurate result

  • Wrap firmly enough to sit flush against your finger, but not so tight that it presses into the skin.
  • Measure later in the day when fingers are slightly larger, for a more comfortable long-term fit.
  • If you are ordering a wide band of 6 mm or more, consider going half a size up as wide bands sit tighter on the finger.

Inside diameter is the measurement across the inside of the ring in millimetres. Circumference is the total distance around the inside of the ring, also in millimetres. Both measurements refer to the inner edge of the ring, not the outer.

Helpful tips

Buying as a surprise

If you are buying secretly, borrow a ring your partner wears on the intended finger and measure the inside diameter with a ruler. You can also place the ring on paper, trace the inside circle, and measure across it. If you cannot get hold of a ring, ask a close friend or family member who might already know the size.

Wide bands fit differently

A band that is 6 mm or wider will feel tighter on the finger than a thin band in the same ring size. If the ring you are ordering is wide, consider sizing up by half a size. If you are unsure, check the band width on the product page or ask us before ordering.

Not completely sure?

Order the size that feels closest to right and use our 90-day exchange policy if it needs adjusting. The exchange covers resizing, and it applies to engraved rings too. You will not be left with a ring that does not fit.
